Whether navigating city streets or tackling rugged terrains, your 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine needs an efficient cooling system. RIPP proudly introduces its Performance Thermostat, designed for the 3.6L engine, to enhance cooling efficiency. This thermostat has a secret design that sets it apart from others.
The RIPP thermostat increases the efficiency of your engine's cooling system by opening up at a lower temperature. This thermostat will open at 180°F, compared to your vehicle's standard thermostat, which opens at a very hot 210°F. This allows coolant to flow through sooner, helping to reduce and maintain cooler temperatures in the engine. This is also a great addition to vehicles with upgraded radiators and fans. The RIPP 180° thermostat does not change your vehicle's normal operating temperature and only allows the coolant system to flow earlier.
The Secret: The RIPP thermostat revolutionizes engine cooling with a unique design feature. Unlike conventional thermostats, ours incorporates a longer piston, increasing thermostat valve lift. While factory thermostats typically open at 7mm, the RIPP Thermostat has an impressive 12mm lift! This extra lift is our secret weapon against heat, allowing more coolant flow through the system, thus increasing cooling performance.
The part fits the following 3.6L Pentastar-equipped vehicles:
Wrangler JK 2012 - 2018 (JK ONLY)
Grand Cherokee 2011 - 2015
Durango 2011 - 2015
Town & Country 2011 - 2015
Caravan 2011- 2015
300 2011 - 2022
Challenger 2011 - 2022
Charger 2011 - 2022
Journey 2011 - 2021
Avenger 2011 - 2014
Pro Tips:
Engine Cooling Service: We recommend replacing the thermostat, flushing and refill the cooling system every 45,000 miles or every 4 years. This helps to remove any accumulated debris, contaminants, and old coolant, ensuring the proper functioning of the cooling system. Along with your coolant system service, check coolant expansion tanks, hoses and fittings.
Tuning: Installing the RIPP low-temperature thermostat is a very effective way to lower engine temperatures. Although tuning is unnecessary, with the lower-temperature thermostat installed, you can use the cooler engine conditions to fine-tune fuel and timing parameters. This can result in increased horsepower and torque and avoid check engine lights when operating in a very cold environment. (i.e., installing a lower temp thermostat in a cold environment could trigger a warning light indicating a slow warm-up time) A warning light for a lower coolant temp might be activated during cold season use.
Coolant Mixture: The coolant-to-water mixture in an engine's cooling system regulates the engine's operating temperature. The mixture typically consists of coolant and water. The standard recommended mixture is a 50:50 mix. However, it is common to adjust the ratio as deemed necessary in race applications or hot environments. A higher water content enhances the thermal conductivity of the mixture, improving its ability to transfer heat away from the engine components. This can benefit a race application where the engine is subjected to high loads and temperatures. Always consult with a professional, as every vehicle will have its own variables.
I didnt believe the product until I used it. Always had the oem and then gates thermostat. The temp always went above 220f on a hot day normal days sitting in traffic would hit 214f and would stay in that temp. Now on hot days sitting in traffic it go up to 210f to 214f as soon as you drive the temp fluctuates between 185f to 192f. Long drives it'll cool down to 185f and it'll stay there. Flooring it, babying it. Doesn't matter keeps the coolant temps cooler . This is on a Dodge Journey R/T 2016 3.6 pentastar
First picture is with factory thermostat and second with ripp 180 thermostat works well just as described great for hot climate like my city Phoenix AZ
I can't have an issues with my 2019 Chrysler 300 with not really overheating but getting a lot hotter than I like it to be and it was causing the transmission to run a little high too but after installing that my transmission is actually running a little too cold on short runs but it does warm up after you let it sit in idle for a while after you drove it maybe a few miles just let it auto and it'll get up to good operating temperature
181-190 being my new operating temp, will definitely help with not breaking things during summer, had problems with high temps during summer and things breaking, have a good feeling this will help, great product!
Well first one i recieved must have been defective i contacted ripp.we talked bck an forth through emals for couple days .then they sent me a replacement very quick. This one works perfect . Thank you .
I waited for months for these to be in stock, It really keeps the engine cooler and now I won’t worry so much about the Blower getting hot from just Idling. Cheers.
I would check my temp regularly snd noticed it got to 220ish degrees and after this thermostat installed, 190 degrees so far and thats a warm day sitting in traffic. Works great, very satisfied with it.
So far it's been a great product and has been keeping my super cool. I totally recommend if you're going through over heating issues. This is the perfect product for the job!.
2015 Chrysler 200c AWD 3.6l. I have not installed the thermostat yet. From what I see, having the product in my hand, it appears to be a high quality part. My car has been running hot. Air was getting in the system and it got hot to the point of the warning light came on. So my thoughts are a new thermostat couldn't hurt. I'm pretty sure it's a bad heater core. I went with your thermostat because I have plans to add a little power with some aftermarket stuff.
I think it'll work just great. I'll let you know when it's installed

Installed on my 2021 chrysler 300s 3.6 rwd works too good also bought and installed 1 for my 2015 chrysler 200c 3.6 really no difference still hitting 228 -235 same thermostat different housing
Seems to work well, haven’t had any issues with it yet though I have added a new 4 core rad. And other things. I plan on adding a Ripp super charger to it soon.
This thermostat is wonderful! No more temperatures at 228°F or 220°F... Now it's between 190 and 208. Thank you, RIPP, you don't deceive your customers!
Temps out here in California would have my wife’s jk at 225-300. Now after the thermostat install it stays around 209 on average. And if it does heat up to 225-230 range the temps drop almost immediately after the fan kicks on. Great product would recommend to anyone with a 3.6 Chrysler engine.
Fit right in my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was installing an aluminum thermostat housing off Amazon at the same time and the shaft just barely didn’t fit. I drilled it out the slightest bit and this thermostat fit. I’m in the California desert and my DGC would “chill” at about 220’F on hot days…. All fixed
