  • NOTE: This oil is now BLUE / Purple in color. *

Keep your RIPP Vortech V3 supercharger running smoothly by changing the oil regularly. This special blend of synthetic lubricants is necessary for the proper maintenance, it will keep you V3 sounding and performing like the day you first got it.

*Use of any other fluid will void your factory warranty and could possible cause damage to the blower*

 Fluid Level Checking Procedure

  • Ensure that the copper sealing washer is located on the dipstick base.
  • Thread the dipstick into the supercharger until it seats.
  • Once the dipstick has seated, remove the dipstick from the unit. Fluid should register in the crosshatched area on the dipstick. This is a small 1/8" area at the very bottom.
  • DO NOT OVERFILL!! Drain excess fluid from the unit if it is above the maximum level on the dipstick.
  • The maximum capacity of the supercharger is 4oz. or 1 bottle of oil.

V-3 Maintenance Notes: Check the supercharger fluid level using the dipstick at least every 2,500 miles.

Initial supercharger fluid change must be performed at 500 miles. The supercharger fluid must then be changed at least every 5000-7,500 miles.
  1. Drain the fluid
  2. Re-fill the unit only with Vortech V3 Blower Oil. DO NOT OVERFILL!
  3. Confirm proper oil level using the dipstick.

Pro Tips:

  • Check your superchargers oil level after the first 500 miles of use to get a baseline and note usage and level oil condition.
  • The supercharger oil is blue / purple in color, this could be hard to see on the dip stick. Please inspect a dry dip stick closely with a bright light.
  • Feel free to mark the dip stick with your vehicles 4oz level making it easier to identify oil level. ( each vehicle could have a slight variance depending on the headunit orientation. )
  • Tighten the dip stick to 4-5ftlbs. / 6nm. Please feel free to use a very small amount of anti-seize on the threads to avoid brass being stuck to the aluminum housing.
  • If you strip the dip stick during service we recommend switching to 10mm hex head dip stick. here
  • When draining supercharger oil, collect your old oil in a clean cup or container for ease of inspection.
  • Common question: Is the oil level effected by extra volume of the drain hose? No. DO NOT ADD more then 4oz to the supercharger, even if your unit is equipped with an oil drain hose.
  • Vortech states 7500 oil change intervals. RIPP suggests you change supercharger oil every 5000 miles of use when in a heavy duty, race application.
