An efficient cooling system is essential for your HEMI V8 engine. The RIPP thermostat increases the efficiency of your engine's cooling system by opening at 180°F, compared to your vehicle's standard thermostat, which opens at 203°F. This allows coolant to flow through sooner, helping to reduce and maintain cooler temperatures in the engine. This is also a great addition to vehicles with upgraded radiators and fans. The RIPP 180° thermostat does not change your vehicle's normal operating temperature; it only allows the coolant system to flow earlier.

Pro Tips:
Engine Cooling Service: We recommend replacing the thermostat and flushing the cooling system every 45,000 miles or every 4 years. This helps remove any accumulated debris, contaminants, and old coolant, ensuring the proper functioning of the cooling system. Your coolant system service should also check coolant expansion tanks, hoses, and fittings.
Tuning: Installing the RIPP low-temperature thermostat is a very effective way to lower engine temperatures. Although tuning is unnecessary, with the lower-temperature thermostat installed, you can use the cooler engine conditions to fine-tune fuel and timing parameters. This can increase horsepower and torque and avoid dash lights operating in a cold environment. (i.e., installing a temp thermostat in a cold environment could trigger a warning light indicating a slow warm-up time)
Coolant Mixture: The coolant-to-water mixture in an engine's cooling system regulates the engine's operating temperature. The mixture typically consists of coolant and water. The standard recommended mixture is a 50:50 mix. However, adjusting the ratio as deemed necessary in race applications or hot environments is common. A higher water content enhances the thermal conductivity of the mixture, improving its ability to transfer heat away from the engine components. This can benefit a race application where the engine is subjected to high loads and temperatures. Always consult a professional, as every vehicle will have its own variables.
I absolutely love it! The RIPP thermostat is the best option. It outperforms Mishimoto. Please ensure that your fan is set to tune. I don't care what other people say about not adjusting the fan settings.
Thermostat works as advertised. Better even. Beating the absolute crap out of it then heat soaking in the drive thru while it's 105 outside, my trucks water temp never peaks past 185.
Exactly what I was looking for, even tho it's a stock 5.7 minus exhaust and a mild cam, a cool engine is a happy engine.
Works as it should. Crusing temp holds at 185. Taser allows me to clear P0128 low temp code until i can get my T/A retuned. Great addition to the RIPP coilpacks. Only issue is product did not come with RIPP mods decal.
Semper Fi
Quick and easy to install. Coolant temp used to hover around 205° while cruising, now it stays at 185°. Oil temp used to hit 220°, now it hovers around 200°. They go up with spirited driving of course but they cool back down after some cruising. Definitely a worthwhile mod for engine longevity and performance.
I have cnc ported cylinder heads, stage 2 hrt cam, and full bolt ons. I went through three thermostats from the local part store, they were all junk. This Ripp thermostat opens exactly when its supposed to and flows way more than stock. The 180⁰ helps keep oil cool, reduces intake air temps and reduces risk of spark knock. I highly recommend it, especially if you're modded or boosted
Jeep 392. I set the custom tune on my Diablosport to 190 and the engine stays between 185 and 190 at all times. It runs better, smother, and gets better gas mileage
This is a great product, so far it has worked very well! Just a simple notice, this is likely to trigger your check engine light, but dont let this worry you. The code should be P0128 for coolant thermostat, the stock ECU (on my 2023 Charger R/T atleast) is programmed to reach 203°F coolant temp, the 180° thermostat doesn't get the engine up to those temps, and the computer will think the thermostat is stuck open. It is not, if you want to ensure you dont get the light for that again, a tune will be needed. Its a great product and my car performs better in the summer heat with it. Would recommend for quality and great customer service! 🔥
I should have change this a long time ago! I live in Texas and now my R/T Durango stays near the 1/4 mark where before it was always in the 1/2 (190F).
Installed this T-stat about 2 weeks ago, works as advertised. Wether im driving down the road or idling in traffic, the coolant temp rarely gets to 190. Before this t-stat, my temps would get as high as 218-220. I highly recommend this T-stat
The Coils i installed gave me extra boost and the 180° thermastat I installed is keeping my temperature right around 185°-186°. I am now debating if I should replace my spark plugs with just 17,000 miles on my DD392.
Down in Florida it is hot most of the year and machinery has a tendency to overheat. When I replaced my radiator in my Jeep Commander the Mechanics at the local Chrysler/Jeep dealership advised me to go with a cooler thermostat and that other customers loved them.
