I have a 2012 Tacoma w/ 4.0 6sp extra cab 4x4. What is your Reccomened coil and Cold Air intake?
James S.
Fantastic company and customer service/support in surpassed!
Jesus R.
These coils are great. Get the performance out of them with air intake, pedal commander, and Exhaust also premium gas. You can ride on regular gas but you won't get all the performance. Forget about saving gas with these. I have all the above so far so good with RIPP COILS. I recommend this.
Catherine C.
HUGE, difference! Love this throttle commander!
Thomas D.
Upgraded to the RIPP coil packs on my 3rd Gen Tacoma. Also, have K&N Cold Air intake with a Flowmaster FX exhaust. Having increased my tire size from 265/70r/17 to a 285/70r/17, and the Coil packs coupled with the cold air intake and exhaust adds round-a-bout 50+ HP. So far I've been able to maintain 18+ MPG with the larger tires how ever, Interstate travel or areas with speed limits 70 MPH and up, tends to burn fuel up quicker with RPMs sticking around 3000 between 5th and 6th Gear. I've read that having the rear differential regeared will help solve this issue, but I'm nothing short of impressed with these coil packs.
Adam G.
Install is very straight forward…everything went together easily…buttoned it up and started up the truck…no codes, no drama!
Only had them on a day before leaving on a business trip so I can’t speak to mileage increases or performance but the truck does seem to be pulling a little harder.
Good product and great service
Emerson B.
Haven't got around to installing them yet since I have a Magnuson supercharger on my truck, and it's b%$#* to get the old coil packs out on the driver's side without removing the SC. Will update when installed.
Jose H.
I just installed the coil packs, they’ve been in for a week. So for no complaints. I’ve noticed about a 2 MPG increase with my 14 mile round trip commute to work within the city. I am using 91 octane fuel, which right now in AZ in not cheap. (FJB) I honestly can’t say I feel a difference in power, if anything the small lag you’d feel when accelerating is minimal now.
I’ll be taking a road trip later this week, I am interested to see the highway milage and performance. I can report back with an update after the trip.
Installation of the coil packs was a little “tricky” on the driver side overall took me about 45-60 minutes start to finish. I did skip the recommended break, haha.
FYI this went on a 2019 Tacoma TRD PRO.
Jay G.
First take is incredible! I have driven roughly 80 miles in town and I have added 4 mpg! Can't wait to see how they do on the highway!
philippe a.
Manual tacoma here, with pedal command of your choice, the coils make a nice difference… Rolling stops in second gear is just fantastic and where you feel the difference. Hope they last forever!
Quality is great and install is straightforward, driver side being the pain of it all …
While being there, catchcan is a beauty and the quality is perfect, a must have in my opinion! Thanks for the quality of it all and super fast shipping…. Duty in canada is a pain but hey … got the stuff and it Rocks ! Thanks R.I.P.P
Michael H.
I’ve held on to these in the box for weeks, because I thought it would difficult to install. Super easy install, and definitely can tell a smoother curve via butt dyno. Even my wife agrees they are worth the money.
Justin K.
Shipping was pretty quick and the product is awesome I definitely feel a difference in my tacoma I'll be ordering in the future thanks ripp keep killing it
Elvis A.
2013 Lexus IS250- Coil-packs are great! Lower speed acceleration feels much smoother than before but biggest difference was at highway speeds in PWR mode, car pulled much more and feel quicker! I will note if you purchase, to replace spark plugs while your there alongside intake manifold gaskets! Only issue I ran into was since the coil packs are larger than OEM the intake manifold was crushing a wire connected to the coil pack all that was needed was light trimming of plastic and was good to go! Also wished I got a sticker with my order but didn’t receive one which was a bummer! Nonetheless the coil packs are a 10/10
Cade H.
Absolutely enjoying it night and day difference. I was getting 11 to 13 miles per gallon now getting 16 to 20 huge difference while running on 33 inch tires.
John H.
Purchased the Coils and they are AWESOME! Could tell an immediate improvement! Idles smoother. More POWER. Better fuel economy.
Highly recommend these.
Ryan H.
Great Customer Service and Awesome Product!
Adam C.
My awesome wife bought these coils for me for Christmas. WOW!!! I've never seen such a difference from a single mod in my life, on any of my vehicles. I already had a S&B intake, and a 3 inch MBRP exhaust and these coils made them all the more efficient in their function. Judging with my butt dyno... I've experienced more power and torque throught the power band. Keeping my foot steady, my truck now hold 6th going up the hills on the freeway where it used to downshift and grab 5th. These motors have port and direct injection, when you put the hammer down and get into the direct injectors... she sings a glorious tune all the way up to nearly 6k RPM pulling HARD the whole way. Sweet sweet motor music! Thanks Ripp... Driveability, and the fun factor of my Tacoma are like never before. These coils have added power and refined my ride like nothing else. This should be the first power mod anybody should put on their Tacoma. Huge effect for the price.
Oscar L.
I just installed two day's a go hav only ran 58 miles with them but felt the instant change my 2018 OR taco has borla type S cat back exhaust and injen cold air filter so the ripp hi performance coils came in perfect
Nick K.
Truck rips now. Crazy difference. Driver side install is tough but doable. Would recommend and does improve performance
Chris s.
I bought these a few years back for my 2017 Tacoma. Now at almost 180,000 miles and the coil packs are still doing great. Thank you for a great product.
VIDAL C.
Excellent product...thanks, thanks
John B.
Shipping was quick and effortless. Items were very well packaged. The directions were ok, passenger side installed was extremely easy. However the driver install was less friendly.
The coil packs are universal, making install a bit easier. Have some patience and the removal and install is decent. I would suggest taking base line data before install with OEM CP and then check the data after new CP are installed.
I’m not 100% sure I feel the HP gains. Only 50-100 miles driven at this point. And installed a new cat back exhaust as well.
I would say the product is good and worth giving a try.
Gary C.
Zap! 2007 Lexus Is350 @ 52,500 miles with F Sport intake and HKS Exhaust. I used to see 23.5 maybe to 24.9 mph typical backroads or Hiway. I have seen slightly over 27.7 on backroads and gentle acceleration. Typical Hiway avg. 25.3 to 26. The Surprise is when you need that Punch to get around a truck or get up to speed merging on ramp. Not sure about the hp rating gain from RIPP, but Punch/Acceleration is outstanding matching intake/exhaust upgrades!
Thanks
Danny M.
Definitely recommend, have it on my 2017 Lexus IS 300 now she's a little more peppy.
Zachary C.
Well I was hoping for a little more performance. What I got was the truck running the smoothest it has ever run and an unexpected bonus. It stays in higher gears longer before shifting down AND I’m getting 10-15% plus better fuel economy. I drive the same 25 mile route five days a week. I had been getting the same mpg sense the truck was new. Now it’s jumped up. I’m loving it!!!
James S.
Great product! Easy install. Highly recommended.
Garrett L.
*Update*
Ripp Superchargers extended my warranty and sent me new Coil Packs at no charge. Chris C, the Sales Manager took great care of me. I really appreciate his swift action.
Garrett L.
6 days past my one year mark, one of my Toyota V6 High Performance Coil Packs - 2010-2021 4.0L V6 4Runner went bad. The mechanic says that these Coil Packs aren't for my 2019 4Runner. I thought I was doing an upgrade, but all I ended up doing was paying to have them installed, and paying to have the OEM one's put back in, not included the price of the RIPP Coils. I'm so disappointed.
Mickey C.
Works well with cold air intake and tuner.
WALTER G.
So far so good. Seems like a noticeable difference in the midrange. I also did a Flowmaster exhaust and Coldair intake 33’ and a leveling kit all at the same time. Definitely a great trio combo. Next is the KDMax tune end of the month. So far good to go Heading to beach tomorrow so hopefully decent mpg.
Shane S.
2007 FJ 4.0 V6 6speed manual trans 226.000 miles installed the high-performance coil packs and it definitely felt a good power difference in the pedal, and looking forward to see how they perform in the long run.
Michael J.
since installing the coil packs, I have better throttle response; the truck picks up speed quicker; and I am getting a few more miles to the gallon.
Roman P.
These are great and enhanced the look of my engine bay aswell.
Two thumbs up
Julio J.
Excellent product, so far it works great.
Gus N.
You can really tell the difference not too difficult to install love it
Dean B.
Customer service was awesome, instant improvement with the new coils, best repair instructions I’ve ever seen for aftermarket parts. 15 minutes to install on my 21 Tacoma 3.5L. Highly recommend
ERIC G.
19 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4, SB Intake, Denso Iridium TT Plugs, MBRP 3" Exhaust, KDMaxx Pro Tune, Nitro Gear 488s and now RIPP Coils. Truck runs way better and smoother after install. The quality of material surprised me, the pictures make them look cheap but they are heavy duty coils. It took a bit (may still be) for my computer to adjust as far as throttle responsiveness and shifting goes. I have an appointment next month for dyno so we will see what I gained. Over all truck runs and drives better and seems quicker in throttle response. I will say this, if you have a third gen Tacoma and are about to install these have new plugs ready. Three of my plugs weren't even torqued from factory allowing blow by. So do yourself a favor and go ahead and install and torque new plugs. Its also a somebich to do the drivers side plugs with large hands. Also the mount bracket on drivers side closest to cab, the bottom bolt I did not have to loosen and was able to get heat guard off and get to plug and coil. So if your thinking of getting these and people are saying they are a gimmick I a sure you they are not. Don't listen to the DBags and just buy them
Ryan G.
Installed this morning and then had to run a bunch of errands could definitely notice increased throttle response and help clean up my exhaust at idle.just hit 150,000 miles and feels new again.
Humberto A.
Amazing. Thank you.
Aaron P.
Used in my 3.5Ltr Supercharged Aurion. Instantly noticed a difference in torque and responsiveness. The car idles much lower and cruises lower but is quick to get up and go. Car doesn't get lost in what gear to be in and has removed the dead part of the pedal. Very happy with the purchase.
Sorin N.
This is a 2011 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4WD, with a V6 3.5L 2GR-FE engine.
The RIPP coils that I have received are the exact length as the OE ones, but their body is taller.
The plastic tabs on the original, 20 year old, connectors broke out 4 of 6, and the most time I wasted in the rear, trying to un-hooks two of those demons... Bruised thumbs, arms, just because I didn't want to take out the upper intake manifold.
The passenger side of the upper intake manifold, towards the firewall, is held in place with a steel bracket that goes right over top of the OE coil, almost no space. The RIPP coils came with a small spacer, that "lifts" that end of the bracket to above the taller RIPP coil body, but then, the top bracket hole, that goes into the plastic manifold, doesn't align. I might be able to fabricate something, or to elongate the existing hole... Right now, I just didn't put that top bolt on. The bracket is supposed to support the plastic manifold rear, IDK how essential it is.
Side-note: The OE spark plugs looked to be in good shape, at 81k miles. OE coils looked good too.
Now, to the part that every one expects, the results. Torque App measured, having the Traction Control turned OFF.
0-60mph: 7.141 s (from 7.644 s means -6.58%)
1/8 mile: 8.696 s (from 9.474 s means -8.22%)
1/4 mile: 13.706 s (from 15.45 s means -11.29%)
Max Power: 230.5 @ 5158 rpm (from 200.4 means 15%). Note that this is estimated by Torque, based on data that I had input, not a true Dyno.
Max Torque: 234.7
Engine temp was 185 F and transmission temp was 153.6 F. Ambient was 64.4 F and intake temp was reported 77.0 F. Gas tank was 1/4 full.
Gas mileage seems to have improved too. From 20.1 MPG previously, I am now at 22.3 MPG, same traffic conditions (commute to work).

I really didn’t think I would notice any improvement but it did. I was surprised that I could feel a power difference. Not the holy grail but an improvement
Davidson D.
Can definitely feel the gains and it’s a night and day difference ill be buying this for my Lexus for life now
Eyal
Smoother ride for sure. Installation takes about 1-2 hours. Highly recommended. Thanks RippMods!
Patrick B.
Arrived in a few days. They look well built. I have not installed them yet. I will update when I get back home.
Jt T.
Instal was easy on my 2017 Lexus IS AWD 300 power is there, you can definitely feel it but it’s not like a WOW feeling. I notice a better gas mileage too!
Manuel M.
I just installed them. I also put in a s&b cold air intake, running 4 tacos exhaust and pedal commander. I do feel an increase in power and performance. I believe I still need to do a tune adjustment. Engine is still trying to do what it was designed to. Happy with product, but still think engine is learning how to adjust to new coils.
Gustavo H.
I installed RIPP coil packs on my 2016 Tacoma TRD Offroad. It was very simple and it definitely made a difference. I could tell how the throttle responded much better. Great product, fast shipping and quality is excellent.
RYAN S.
Could feel the difference right away. Very happy.
Chris W.
18 taco easy install great performance directions are nice.
It really wakes the truck up and better MPG great product.
Eduardo T.
I bought these and installed them and i can honestly say they surprised me . The car drives much smoother and the power i feel at 4500-5000rpms+ when i accelerate the car really moves. Top end is much improved and my mpg is better as well after installing these. If you're not running these , then you're honestly doing yourself a disservice!
Rhett P.
The installation instructions were spot on if you've never dealt with replacing your plugs/coil packs previously. Product is designed/manufactured solidly. Performance wise, it gave that automatic V6 a little more pep, especially when the truck dogs with the A/C on. The RIPP coilpacks definitely make the list for Tacoma Must Mods.
Chad M.
While I was really skeptical of the 20-30hp gain, you can really FEEL the difference! These really increase the drivability and enjoyment of my tacoma. No more searching for gear or constant shifting, you can just power through and go. This is how the Tacoma should have come from the factory! 100% recommend.
Stephen P.
The coil pack swap took less than 30 minutes. Everything fit perfectly. Noticeable gains in throttle response and torque. The idle is very smooth. I'm using 1/8 of a tank to get to work instead of 1/4 tank because I don't have to mash the throttle as hard to get on the freeway. Do it if you want smooth performance gains and better fuel economy!
Nicholas M.
RIPP SuperChargers for Tacoma 3.5K (2GR-FKS V6) I used these on my 2018 Camry XSE 3.5 V6 2GR-FKS and they fit PERFECTLY no install issues at all… Now my Camry “idles” super smooth and power and torque increase can be felt throughout off idle to redline RPM’s… Worth the price for this top quality Mod you get Horse Power for your $$$!!!
Dave C.
I’ve only had these in for about a week. I will say I had noticeable gains. I have a 2020 Tacoma offroad. I paired these with my s&b cold air intake (oiled filter) and my sprint booster throttle control. I definitely noticed more get up and go, and the taco will hold gear a little longer and in some situations not even downshift where it used to on my daily drive. I can’t speak to how these will be without an air intake mod. But with one, you will notice more horsepower. Can’t speak to the fuel economy either. As I’ve been putting the pedal to the metal a lot.
I am not disappointed. Worth the purchase to me for sure. I’d imagine I’ll see a mile per gallon or two more when I calm down.
Kevin F.
Buyer Beware this is not that easy of a job!!! The Left side (intake side) is a piece of cake to install but the right side (hoses, coolant, ac, vacuum and fuel lines) are a challenge to get into and through especially if you have big hands. If not careful you can strip an engine bolt hole that connects the coil pack to the engine and have much bigger problem on your hands. After installation I do notice a little bit quicker response when accelerating and down shifting.
David K.
Great! I did notice the more aggressive response my truck has. This is a pic of my truck . Inside the trailer are 2 street Glides. AZ to Sd Sturgis trip. Lots of mountains. Never let me down.
Phil A.
Better throttle response, gas mileage and horsepower. Pair it with a cold air intake, exhaust, KDMAX Tune and you are getting the power you were hoping for. Awesome product and thank you for the stickers shipped out after there were no stickers in the package.
Bo L.
I like how they helped the initial get up but fades threw the gears. By fourth I don't notice anything. Sure would like to see something else come out for the top end. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have them installed in my truck. Any help is better than nothing. I've changed exhaust, the gears, air filter system, computer upgrades and this motor needs to be discontinued and get something in these tacomas that will give other trucks a run for their money. Not impressed with the supercharger. For the stats I've been seeing it's just not worth all that money. These are a great first step to other upgrades I hope will come soon. 3rd gen tacomas are nice and I really like mine but it's 2021, they had five years to improve or replace the motor or aren't they listening to everyone out here saying how disappointing it is. That's all I have to say for now. Thanks for reading.
Stacey C.
Notable difference after installing them ! Thanks
Ismael R.
The installation on the driver side took longer than expected. The bolts on that side were semi hidden. Which made it difficult from time to time. Passenger side was fast and only took 5 minutes to install. However, overall I still love this product. I can see the difference with a little more power.
RICHARD V.
It was a little harder than I thought it would be to install but my son and son-in-law got it done and I am happy thanks.
Jeffery S.
I charged the stock coils to the Ripp coil pack and I can tell the increase in power. if you want more power also change the cold air intake. I choose to do both and my truck runs and pulls better.
Elijah P.
A noticeable difference in power. I feel it more on the top end than the lower but an increase on both for sure. These coil packs compliment my aftermarket exhaust, CAI, and OV tune very well. The only negative I have is that my MPG has decreased about 2mpg. I do like the product and I am happy I purchased it, however using the butt dyno I would say its only about a 10hp increase.
John W.
Excellent quality. First thing I noticed was improved throttle response. Also noticed about a 10% reduction in fuel consumption under normal driving. I pared the coils with the TRD intake . What a huge difference that made on top end power. Pulling power and passing on the highway is greatly improved. You can definitely feel the increase in power over stock. We'll worth the investment.
Roberto A.
Super good product
I highly recomment it
Thank
Mathew M.
Easy mod. Can feel the difference and have seen an increase in mpg. Definitely well worth the money.
Gus N.
Must be a great product went to order it and it’s sold out
James H.
I already had a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust and high performance tune when I installed these coil packs, and was stunned by the immediate improvement in power and throttle response. Install was straightforward, no more difficult than a sparkplug change. Every tank of fuel since I put them in,, I'm constantly seeing 2-2.5 mpg improvement in fuel economy. Best mod I've done so far. Worth every penny! The only negative is they didn't come with a Ripp Supercharges sticker!
Mike D.
2017 Tacoma TRD PRO, 265/70/16 tires, 5:29 Nitro gears, 120k miles, OV 1.04 tune, added 2+ mpg highway, 1+ mpg city. Noticeable power gain through entire rpm range, more at higher rpm. Highly recommend. First time install........ give yourself 4 hrs. Worth it
Lou Y.
I can feel the difference on power and smooth of the engine. It was worth the money thanks.
Jonathan P.
Can I used the coils for my 2000 Tacoma V6 3.5 ?
Luis G.
Well made product.
Mario F.
Added these on so I could have some extra responsiveness and man did this deliver! I have this paired with a couple of things; carven catback exhaust, injen ram air intake, OV tune 2.0 93 octane performance tune with all Toyota tune updates from 2016-2021 stacked; adding this on made the truck literally fly when I drive. The CPU took a bit to pick up that it had a little extra spark with it but it absolutely flies. Make sure that while you replace the coils you also replace your sparkplugs with it. All in all I got the power speed and torque I had been looking for. It was either this or going with a Magnuson supercharger or a ripp one. But I think I found the best bang for my buck!
Brad J.
Overall I think the coils do make a difference. I have noticed better fuel mileage. Hard to feel such a little power increase, but it does feel that the throttle response is a little better.
Del S.
5TH Gen 4Runner TRD Pro. Super easy install. Noticed a difference in response right away. Definitely helps with the slow to accelerate 4Runner engine.
Darren K.
Easy to install, Driver side took a little more time due to the make of the truck. Overall I’m happy
Thomas S.
I recently installed these coil packs in my 2016 4 Runner TRD PRO, the Gunny approves! I have increased horsepower along with better gas mileage! Where I used to rely on my pedal commander to give me the Results I wanted, now I have the Pedal commander turned off , I am really impressed! I’m seeing about 2 MPG improvement, and the throttle response is so smooth and efficient !!
Thomas S.
Impressed, noticed more zip and improved fuel efficiency after a week.
My ride is a 19 Tacoma with 4:88 gears, K&N cold air intake and OV tuned using 91 octane.
Keone J.
I purchased the coil pack for my 2016 Tacoma to get a little more power out of the engine, I received the coil packs with excellent instructions, I have 37,929 miles on it. I installed the coil packs along with new spark plugs since I was taking the old coil pack off. To my surprise the coil packs made a difference in the mid-range power, I noticed when trying to pass another vehicle on the highway the truck felt like it had more pep, passing was easier. I would recommend getting these coil packs.
Keone Johnson, Kailua Kona, Hawaii
Jordon V.
More than pleased with this purchase. A couple of my other engine mods had little to no difference in performance. But these coil packs made a noticeable difference! If your hesitating to purchase these, DON’T! Definitely a must have! Thank you RIPP!
Jordan W.
How am I supposed to Review a product, that you haven’t even shipped to me yet? I would love to do a proper review when I get the Coil Packs.
Sincerely, awaiting customer
Adam S.
Definitely worth it on a 3rd gen Taco! Already had a tune, intake, and exhaust before installing the RIPP coilpacks. There was an instant noticable increase of power throughout the power band. Even more torque on the low end that is noticeable in towing AND holding gear at lower rpms! That has translated to improved driveability and mpg. While I do have other power adders, the fact that RIPP has added enough to make 35" MT's light up on an auto 3rd gen Taco should say enough!
Elisha G.
Definitely more throttle response.
Christopher B.
Ripp Coil Packs for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma, 3.5L V6.
The installation was relatively straight forward, though I was unable to install the driver side middle coil pack without removing the wiring harness connector post. The instructions mention to take care not to break it, but don’t mention how to properly remove it.
Performance is as advertised. After about 150 miles of mixed city/highway driving I am getting approximately 1.5 mpg more than before, and the extra horsepower is noticeable. It may be anecdotal evidence, but the smile on my face when I stood on the gas told me all I needed to know. 5 Stars!
Scott P.
I added ripps coil packs and K&N’s best cold air take for the Tacoma. I also installed the k&N throttle controller. The coil packs was the last installment, and I noticed the most change in horsepower after the coil packs great combination in my truck is definitely accelerating a lot faster than it was before
Hiram G.
The low end torque was very impressive. Also about 1.5 - 2 mpg due to using less throttle. Overall I would recommend it.
Colton N.
Straightforward install. You will have to disconnect vacuum hoses and various connectors. Total install time was roughly an hour. Throttle feels more responsive. My truck is on 33’s, lifted on Kings, and i have rock sliders. I don’t feel a huge “gain” but the power is noticeable.
Shayne S.
Installed coils packs 9/9/20. Once installed made a drive and was very impressed (noticeable difference). Throttle response , power through RPM range. I would highly recommend this product. I’ve installed many performance products, none I’ve felt like this! 5 stars
Marcus R.
Paired these with E3 plugs as you are basically right there and might as well do that also. If you are looking for seat of the pants power you won’t get that with these but what you do get is a bit of power which makes this more drivable in and around town and on the highway the shift points are definitely better due to the increase of power.
I gained about 2-2.5 MPGs.
Well worth the money and I highly suggest also changing plugs to E3’s while you do this.
I am also running TRD intake and exhaust.
Alberto R.
Easy to install better fuel efficiency gain power my next mod is reflash the computer and is done!!!
Anthony A.
Bought these High Preformance coilpacks for my 17’ Tacoma as an impulse buy. Heard a lot of great reviews and even some that said they don’t really make a difference. Install was easy took about 45 minutes to remove everything and bolt back up. The only hard part was moving some of those wires out of the way to get to the first coil pack on the driver side. After install went for a test drive and immediately noticed a difference feeling in my throttle, smoother shifts, and a slightly longer gear hold. I have the whole steel bumpers, 35s, skids, bed rack setup so my truck has a bit more weight than stock. Already had a flow master exhaust system, Volant Preformance airbox, and nitro 5.29s installed to help with the big power loss from the extra weight and 35s. 2 weeks later, second fill up and trucks driving better than before with all the extra added benefits from the RIPP Preformance packs! Also my mpg also went up a few points which is always a plus. Thanks to the guys at RIPP for the awesome product and service!
Nickolas S.
Absolutely transforms the way my ‘20 tacoma drives. Almost feels like it has a performance tune. All the dead spots in the throttle are gone, like driving with ECT on. MPG improvements are yet to be seen but time will tell.
Tim V.
Easy install and definite gains
