RIPP Technical information about cylinder flame speed and how an upgraded ignition system will directly effect power.
An Internal combustion engine's "flame speed" refers to the rate at which the air-fuel mixture burns during the combustion process. This speed significantly impacts engine performance and efficiency. The faster flame speed will increase cylinder pressure. When a spark is hotter, it ignites the air-fuel mixture more rapidly, leading to faster combustion, and an increase in pressure. Higher cylinder pressure = more torque pushing down on the piston.
Flame front propagation speed: As the flame front propagates faster across the combustion chamber, the fuel burns more efficiently, releasing more energy. This, in turn, enhances the engine's power and responsiveness. Additionally, with a faster flame speed, the combustion process is completed sooner, reducing the chance of incomplete burn or unburned hydrocarbons being released into the exhaust gases. In summary, optimizing the flame speed by utilizing more spark energy can significantly improve engine performance. It enables the engine to operate more efficiently, delivering increased power output, improved fuel economy.

Great compliment to the RIPP supercharger! Much more responsive. Eliminated rough idle I was experiencing. Wish I had done it sooner.
Seems to work slightly better than the factory one. Not bad. I do have the ripp spark plug wires btw!
Bolts right in. Just don't know about performance increase being as I installed the long tube headers at same time.
Well built product. Installed a few weeks ago but already see a 1.5-2 mpg increase depending on type of driving and without changing plugs. I already had a set of quality wires.

I’m a big fan of RIPP. But don’t think just adding their coil is going to give you a big boost. Engines need air And gas. You can’t add more of one without Adding more of the other, and then you have to ignite the gas efficiently and get rid of the exhaust. That means adding a complete system. I went with RIPP’s coils, plugs, wires, headers and 91 octane Diablo tune. To add more air I went with a Volant CAI. MBRP exhaust completes the package. Lastly, regearing is a must if you’re running larger tires. I’m on 37’s so I’m running 5:13’s. Everything together makes that 3.8 a peppy little thing! I cruise nicely at at 75 mph without the tranny dropping out of overdrive all the time. It’s quicker off the line (I added a Hike-it pedal tuner) which adds even more speed and throttle response (but not power). Low end torque is better too. Have not been on a dyno but I would guess I’ve added about 50-60 horsepower overall. Good enough for me. Thanks RIPP!
I needed to change my old air filter the rubber neck was cracked and dry rotted. Desided to order a new one and a coil pack upgrade, very happy with the performance, the jeep seems to run bettet.
Had upgraded my headers with RIPP and then had a few misfires, talked to the guys at RIPP, by the way great customer service, and they recommended changing coil. So I decided to upgrade too. Man what a difference no codes, misfires or low RPM idle. Have 35's on and 4.56 gears and you can feel the power. I just ordered cables and sparks. Next step supercharge my JK 2011!

Never did a review before now, I thought this might be a good place for a first. Wow, can you say instant results? For my 3.8 jk two door, i can say absolutely smoother idle, no hesitation starts with great bottom end power and hard hitting top end every time! If your thinking about pulling the trigger on this-this brings it all together. If you have the 3.8 supercharged and don’t have this, you haven’t been paying attention to the reviews. 2010 JK 3.8 that flies. Jerry A. St. Augustine, Florida
Got here quick, My 07 Jku has never ran better 3” lift 35’s and 18/19 mpg all day now. Great product better performance.

Nice upgrade
Smoother idle and smoother shifting. However due to the corona virus, I haven’t been able to really test it out on the highway or see if the mpg had changed. If I can, I’ll edit this when I do test them out. Overall if you were planning on replacing your coil pack and/or wires, you might as well spend the extra little bit to get this.
Coil pack really brings my Jeep to life and the plug wires are just the right length to not lap over the headers. Customer service is one hundred percent some of the greatest in the world!
Install was easy, price was fair. Installed with ngk spark plugs and coil plugs supplied by ripp. So far I noticed city driving mpg go from 17 to 19mpg. Highway driving is where the upgrades really shined. 19mpg to now 22mpg. Impressive as I’m on 35” M/Ts with a 3” lift plus steel bumpers, fended and winch. Buy the coil pack, you won’t be disappointed!
Smoothed out my idle, virtually no miss fires anymore. More consistent and better fuel economy. Gained approximately 1 mile to the gallon. Very happy with the product, and customer service. My first coil came damaged in shipping, and they quickly replaced it and it was in my hands again within 5 days!

My jeep would run rough at first Start and would run very rough when going through large puddles on the road. I bought the jeep with 76,000 miles. The Ripp Mods Coil and wires fixed all these issues. I also upgraded my spark Plugs to the NGK Iridium IX. My jeep now runs flawlessly even through standing water. It also feels like it has a bit more pep. I would use any Ripp Mods products with total confidence.

Purchased RIPP Super Charger in January, 2021 and it worked great for 8 months. Engine started misfiring and RIPP replaced charger at no cost. Greasy customer service and awesome product. Would recommend to others.
Cold air intake, 3” throttle body, new spark plugs and wires along with the Ripp coil pack totally transforms 3.8L jk Jeep.
I was looking for a super coil-type ignition coil that would allow me to open up the spark plug gap to improve low RPM torque. After trying other supposedly "high performance" coils that were no better than stock, I was impressed by the dyno test of the Ripp coil on YouTube. While the host emphasized an 8% gain in high end horsepower, I noticed the much larger (and unmentioned) increase in low end power on the graph. I ordered it and have noticed a measurable improvement in low end torque that I was looking for. In short, it works as advertised. (four stars) It's pricey, however. And it needs just a little more power to support a plug gap of 0.065", which would be ideal.

I installed the could and it immediately made a difference. I would have to down shift on a hill, however do to the RIPP coil I don't have to change gears any longer.
Excellent product. I have a Jeep JK 3.8L and the performance is great.
I am very impressed with the product! Way smoother idle, nice increase in low end torque. Slight increase in mileage was an unexpected bonus. The Jeep just runs , I guess happier would be a strange but truthful way to put it. Feels "new" faster starts everything. I have recommended it to friends and family already. Worth the money for sure.
Increased my gas per mile range and Jeep is more responsive with this coil. Definitely and great combo with my supercharger
