An oil catch can will increase performance of your 3.5L or 4.0L Toyota engine. Engine performance will increase by reducing the blow-by contamination. Keep in mind, not all catch cans are created equal, there are many designs but the RIPP Catch Can System shines above all the rest.

RIPP catch cans are equipped, with multiple filters. A baffle, plate and bronze sintered filter. these filters are removable and serviceable. A dip stick is also included to easily check and monitor fluid levels.
Here's why a catch can is beneficial to your engine and how it works.
Your engine relieves pressure from the crankcase through a hose that connects from valve cover to the intake manifold. This pressure is commonly referred to as "blow-by". The ventilation of blow-by gases allows oil and gunky condensation into the intake manifold. This actually leads to more serious issues like contaminated intake air and carbon build up around your intake valves. Contaminated air is when the crank case fumes actually mix with clean air thus lowering your octane. This leads to pre-ignition or pinging. This will cause issues with tuning and overall engine power. Even worse these contaminants will start to build up inside the intake runners and valves. When left unchecked this buildup can hurt fuel economy, horsepower, and can even cause misfires. A Forced induction engine will naturally have more blow-by gas, so if your vehicle is supercharged this catch will help control it.

Adding a catch-can will prevent oil and other contaminants from causing buildup inside your engine. Essentially the catch can will act as a collection system. Installed into the crank-case ventilation hose to "catch" the contaminants before they can reach the intake manifold. The RIPP catch-can is focused on filtration and baffling. The RIPP Catch Can has an integrated baffle plate and a Sintered Bronze Filter which acts as a liquid/fume separator creating an extra layer of filtration. This cleans the fumes as they pass from that can into your intake. Optimal Catch Can Performance:
Achieving the best filtration and managing engine blow-by is a process influenced by variables and factors such as engine mileage, driving style, fuel quality, engine oil quality and viscosity, vehicle location and environment, temperature, humidity, and engine temperatures.
To maintain your catch can effectively:
-After installing the catch can, closely observe and document the liquid collected in the can over the initial 500 miles.
-Periodically inspect the catch can to assess the accumulation of contaminants. -Adjust the frequency of inspections based on the variables mentioned above.
-Use the 500-mile measurement as a benchmark to establish service intervals. This proactive approach ensures timely maintenance and sustained catch can effectiveness.

Easy install. Everything went smooth. Make sure to clean out the fittings before install though. There was a lot of metal shavings inside one of mine
Got the Catch Can Kit for the 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma. Super easy install. Didn’t see a good amount of oil in the catch can until about 100 miles but that also could be from driving mostly on the highway
Super easy install, took about 20 min. We’ll see what it actually does though.

Install was pretty easy, look is clean along with the fit and finish. One of my hose clamps did have a stripped screw so I had to replace it and shave some plastic off the radiator guard where the can mounts. I have checked it and it seems to have good baffling to collect the oil, not much water vapor getting collected which is good. Hoping this will help keep the engine cleaner for years to come.
I'm glad I purchased the RIPP can. It works great and gives my engine a clean look. Hopefully it will make my engine last just a little bit longer. I recommend this. Awsome upgrade for my TOYOTA TACOMA. I also got the RIPP COIL PACKS they work nice together.
To catch can is a very good quality. My only issue is the mounting bracket wasn’t just a bolt on I had to modify it, so it will sit flush and straight other than that it’s great 2022 Tacoma Trd off-Road
As a non-mechanic I was skeptical. But hot dang look at all the nastiness the catch can prevented from blowing back inside my engine. 100% worth it. I highly recommend.

I have a 2016 tacoma and this oil catch can is doing its job! Installation was easy, nothing you cant do in your driveway. I check and drain it every oil change (5-6k miles), maybe sooner in the colder months I'd definitely recommend getting this.
Took a 700 mile trip with the catch can for its maiden voyage. When I got home, I was very surprised to find, 30ml of a very powerful smelling oil substance that was very water like. I am so glad I didn't wait any longer than I have. As I plan on keeping my truck for the long haul.

Straight forward and easy to install. If your vehicle is a manual you may have to route the hose that the 90⁰ connects to slightly different. And no that is not a complaint. I absolutely love it. I Have had it on my truck less than 2k miles and it's already doing its job. Thank you for making such an amazing product.

I purchased a catch can for my 2023 Tacoma which easy install and checked it after roughly 400 miles. To my shock there was about a tsp of nasty smelling oil in the bottom of the can. I would recommend this can for its price, quality and easy install. Would be nice if they made a can for the other side of the motor or a way to connect the other side of the motor to the can seeing this set up only does one side.

I put it on my son's 3rd gen Tacoma. Seems to be a well made product. I would make one suggestion though. Where the hose fittings screw into the catch can, I would angle the edge of the holes in the catch can so the oring would be able to seat into the side of the catch can. Its called a boss fitting sseat. If not the orings just squish out.

My truck is already tuned; I noticed that the gas pedal has a little more sensitivity, which I like since I have a heavy foot.
Great product. Well made cam and hoses. Loved the attention to deteal on the can and hoses, although I would revisit the hose clamps. The clamps that were shipped with my catch can would only mate with a very small blade screw driver which cracked and or broke at the bladed part when tighting the clamp. The mating bolt also wouldn't accept a nut driver due to its odd shape possibility substandard manufacturing or QC missed the clamp as noncompliance. In my opinion the product would be a user friendly installation with the clamps as shown in the advertisement. Just my thoughts. With all that I will say the can and hoses are great.

Great can and great build quality too. I've had it on my Toyota Tacoma with 131k miles for just two weeks and I'm already seeing results. I highly recommend getting one just for the peace of mind of knowing your engine will last a little longer.

Installed the Oil Catch can along with the RIPP coil packs for my 3rd Gen Tacoma. Only have a few hundred miles on it since its instillation so I'm curious to see how much the catch can will retain during my 5,000 mile oil change interval. Easy install, didn't take much time at all. The wording on the instructions were a little strange, the called the PCV inlet a bundle/grundle something like that so it was just strange. Excellent product. Looking forward to retaining longevity with my 3.5L Motor.
The install was excellent and pain free. I was originally very skeptical about the worthiness of the catch can, but it makes a noticeable difference in the idle, as well as lowering the torque “hit@ to @3500 rpm. Well worth it.
Catch can seems to be good quality. Chamfer for o rings would be nice. Allen screw seemed a little short for the mount but otherwise no complaints.
I never really believed in catch cans but the RIPP changed my mind after this product! Thank you!
Fitment is perfect and install is a breeze.!.!. Quality is hard to beat in my opinion… a must have for the enthusiast, and of the lasting quality of the véhicule… I drive standard and sometimes go up in rpm’s, so no worries as to where the bad stuff goes anymore.!.! I have just recently installed and have noticed some oil it’s already collected! Great product.
I would like to see a better description for the long hose and short hose. So that' it's clear what goes where. Secondly, a clear photo or diagram of where the hose are to route would be great. Then some zip ties to secure the hose.

A well made and high quality product! I love that you don’t have to cut the stock PCV tube to make it work like another company’s. After 2 tanks of gas it had already started to collect oil so it’s absolutely doing it’s job and I can’t wait to see what it collects after 2.5k and 5k miles. The only 2 things that I would like to note that kept me from giving the product a full 5 stars is that it comes with spring clamps and I would absolutely pay the few dollars extra for small t-band clamps with a hex head, and it didn’t mount the way it was supposed to for my 2020. Instead of mounting on the outside of the fan shroud, like the directions described, I had to mount mine in between the shroud and the radiator
