Keep your RIPP Vortech V3 supercharger running smoothly by changing the oil regularly. This special blend of synthetic lubricants is necessary for the proper maintenance, it will keep you V3 sounding and performing like the day you first got it.
*Use of any other fluid will void your factory warranty and could possible cause damage to the blower*
Fluid Level Checking Procedure
Ensure that the copper sealing washer is located on the dipstick base.
Thread the dipstick into the supercharger until it seats.
Once the dipstick has seated, remove the dipstick from the unit. Fluid should register in the crosshatched area on the dipstick. This is a small 1/8" area at the very bottom.
DO NOT OVERFILL!! Drain excess fluid from the unit if it is above the maximum level on the dipstick.
The maximum capacity of the supercharger is 4oz. or 1 bottle of oil.
V-3 Maintenance Notes: Check the supercharger fluid level using the dipstick at least every 2,500 miles.
Initial supercharger fluid change must be performed at 500 miles. The supercharger fluid must then be changed at least every 5000-7,500 miles.
Drain the fluid
Re-fill the unit only with Vortech V3 Blower Oil. DO NOT OVERFILL!
Confirm proper oil level using the dipstick.
Pro Tips:
Check your superchargers oil level after the first 500 miles of use to get a baseline and note usage and level oil condition.
The supercharger oil is blue / purple in color, this could be hard to see on the dip stick. Please inspect a dry dip stick closely with a bright light.
Feel free to mark the dip stick with your vehicles 4oz level making it easier to identify oil level. ( each vehicle could have a slight variance depending on the headunit orientation. )
Tighten the dip stick to 4-5ftlbs. / 6nm. Please feel free to use a very small amount of anti-seize on the threads to avoid brass being stuck to the aluminum housing.
If you strip the dip stick during service we recommend switching to 10mm hex head dip stick. here
When draining supercharger oil, collect your old oil in a clean cup or container for ease of inspection.
Common question: Is the oil level effected by extra volume of the drain hose? No. DO NOT ADD more then 4oz to the supercharger, even if your unit is equipped with an oil drain hose.
Vortech states 7500 oil change intervals. RIPP suggests you change supercharger oil every 5000 miles of use when in a heavy duty, race application.

Changed fluid at 1,500 and was perfect. Oil is great and quited down the bearings in the supercharger.
RiPP Superchargers produce the most HP gains for the money. The rear wheel horsepower
went from 265 (stock) to an awesome 409. Installed in my 2016 Colorado Z-71 over a year
ago. Incredible power through the entire rpm range. The supercharger lubricant is changed
every 5K miles and keeps the RiPP Supercharger performing optimally.
I just installed the Ripp supercharger on my 2015 3.6 Colorado and it is Awesome! All i can say is,it reminds me of when i put a tune in my Duramax diesel and woke it up.Now there BOTH Awake👌👍
Installed the Ripp Supercharger in my 2010 Jeep Wrangler 3.8L. Did it myself in two and a half days. The install was easier than I thought. Amazing power for my little 3.8. Whenever I had a question, I would call the technical service department and they would pick up directly and was there to answer my questions. So happy I went with the American Made Product. If you are thinking about other products, like I did, I can tell you the Ripp Supercharger is a great product. Instant power, no lag. If you live in the mountains like I do in Colorado, I am at 8,000 feet, get the high altitude pulley. By the way, the sound it makes is awesome! Sounds mean, while at idle. I love the sound it makes.
I don't want to make a negative review, but the blow off valve is constantly going out because of the heat down south. It's made out of plastic and the heat under the hood when it's 100 degrees outside is too much for this valve. I suggest a metal valve with some type of heat shield. Also I'm chasing a small leak somewhere on the housing or pulley.
RIPP SHIPS QUICK :). And Chris, I think his name is, he's put up with many odd conversations with me, which have happened because I took the 5.7L kit, which we initially put on my 5.7L Durango R/T, and then kept it in play when we dropped in a brand new crate 6.4, configured for a six-speed manual Challenger SRT application, which deleted MDS. We installed drop-in forged pistons and rods at 9.7:1 compression, and we continue to operate the RIPP kit at 9 pounds of boost, yielding approximately 650 horsepower at the crank. The only persistent problem I've had is crankcase pressure causing oil to flee the engine :)
2014 Challenger, TorRed, SXT, 3.6 Pentastar engine, 5 speed Daimler trans, non-posi rear axle when bought new in 2014, very baseline model - no frills, just a pretty color and chrome wheel covers.
In October 2018 added RIPP Supercharger kit at 28,000 miles, installed at RDP MotorSport in Ohio. Turned 50,000 miles yesterday, 6/10/2025. Car and RIPP kit are flawless. Have added RIPP Catch Can, front strut tower tie bar, wheels, tires, brakes, open hood vents, removed hood weather seal at base of windshield, added LED lighting inside and out, sill covers, upgraded OEM stereo amp. Still has stock mono-port exhaust. Only use Chemical Guys detail products.
Car is usually a Michigan summer-only car. My wife is the actual owner and primary driver, as well as being the one who asked for her car to be "as fast as it is pretty." The car usually gets an annual winter trip to FL, NC, SC. Also been to AZ, WY, CO, TX, OK, UT destinations on summer trips.
Car dyno 451 at the ground. Has run smoothly and flawlessly since install. Change S/C oil annually in fall or after winter trip. Fuel mileage test on local roads show MPG at 70 mph has risen from 27 to 31 MPG.
Power is very controllable, no issues on wet roads or around town. Car has outrun every other brand who has "come calling" (although I don't expect a win against a Hellcat or a C-8 ZO6) with no problems. The highest speed which I have seen on the dash is 138 mph. I am certain that the car has been 150+ but I'm too focused to look down.
I will attempt to resubmit with a few photos when possible.
